Pacific MindWorks adds MATLAB Support to Nimbus Driver Studio 2.0 and Joins The
MathWorks Connections Program
Latest Version of Nimbus Driver Studio Enables Developers to Automatically Generate
Drivers for MathWorks’ Instrument Control Toolbox
SAN DIEGO, Calif., August 18, 2009
Pacific MindWorks today announced it has added MATLAB support to Nimbus Driver Studio
and joined
The MathWorks Connections Program. With the latest version of Nimbus Driver
Studio, developers only need to select a single setting within Nimbus 2.0 to have
a MATLAB installable instrument driver automatically created.
Pacific MindWorks has worked closely with The MathWorks on a number of standards committees,
including the IVI Foundation (Interchangeable Virtual Instruments) and the LXI Consortium
(LAN Extensions for Instruments).
"The MathWorks was involved early on in the Nimbus 2.0 development cycle providing
detailed requirements and guidance on exactly how the MATLAB features should work,"
said Kirk Fertitta, Pacific MindWorks Chief Technical Officer. "Together, we used
real-world instruments to test and evaluate the MATLAB drivers and make sure they
were of the highest possible quality."
"IVI-COM drivers generated by Nimbus 2.0 automatically include MATLAB support and
integrate seamlessly with MATLAB's Instrument Control Toolbox," said Roy Lurie,
Vice President of Engineering at The MathWorks. "This enables MATLAB users to have
a streamlined workflow when connecting to instruments using IVI drivers."
The MathWorks Connections Program is available to third-party organizations that
develop and distribute complementary, commercially available products and services
based on the MATLAB technical computing environment. Partner products offer solutions
that are seamlessly integrated with The MathWorks products to ensure compatibility.
The automatic MATLAB driver generation feature is included in the latest version
of Nimbus Driver Studio. A 30-day free trial is available today at
www.PacificMindWorks.com/GoNimbus.
