Kirk Fertitta
Kirk Fertitta is Chief Technical Officer for Pacific MindWorks and has been developing
Windows applications for more than 10 years. Kirk travels extensively, teaching
C# and .NET to developers around the world. For many years, he has worked in applying
component technologies like COM to the test and measurement industry, and specifically
to the construction of commercial-quality IVI-COM instrument drivers. Kirk is co-author
of ATL Internals 2nd Ed. (Addison-Wesley), with Chris Sells and
Brent Rector.
Hugues Valois
Hugues Valois has been working in Visual C++, MFC, and COM for the past 6 years.
At Pacific MindWorks, Hugues designs and develops everything from Windows Forms
applications to XML/XSLT processing engines. For several years, Hugues has focussed
on code generation technology for applications ranging from our own Nimbus product
line to other commercial products -- such as the recently announced STRIDE product
from S2 Technologies and Corel Corporation's sophisticated CorelDRAW application.
Prior to moving to San Diego, Hugues worked as a senior software developer for Corel
Corporation in Ottawa, Canada. At Corel, Hugues was responsible for the design and
implementation of several new features for CorelDRAW as well as for the mentoring
of new developers.
Brad Handa
In addition to conceiving the official name "Nimbus" for our flagship product, Brad
Handa has over twenty years of experience in the software industry and has been
developing Windows applications for over 12 years. Much of his work has been focussed
in Visual C++, COM, ATL, MFC, and most recently in .NET. Brad is also an instructor
and course author for the C# and .NET curriculum at the University of California
San Diego.
